INTERMEDIATE/SENIOR CASUALTY ADJUSTER required for this boutique adjusting firm in Toronto dealing with claims handling in the commercial, industrial and specialty risk markets.

The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to mentor and work with top technical adjusters in the country.
As a specialized commercial adjusting firm our client is service focused, responsive, and effective.
Centrally located in downtown Toronto or conveniently located in Burlington for the candidate that may be looking to avoid the daily commute into the city, our client provides a relaxed and collaborative working environment. Parking is provided for the successful candidate by the firm.

Interviewing is open to independent adjusters as well as those employed with insurers. Experience, work ethic and personality fit is of importance to this firm.

Job Description:
The candidate is responsible for identifying and exceeding the expectations of the customer including; ensuring the timely and thorough investigation of all claims in order to confirm coverage, assess liability, eligibility, exposure, and or entitlement. The candidate must provide efficient and prompt investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of large and /or moderately complex claims in accordance with regulations, guidelines and best practices of the client and the adjusting firm.

Responsibilities:
Investigate, confirm coverage, evaluate, negotiate settlement of claims in accordance with established guidelines

Minimum 5 years experience independent handling of casualty claims with an emphasis on Professional Indemnity (E&O) and CGL claims experience
Field Adjusting Experience is a MUST
Assess liability and prepare theory of defense
Pursue recovery where applicable
Prepare comprehensive client reports
Accurately assess reserves
Litigation management
Adhere to service standard by communication effectively with all parties involved
Other duties as required

Employment Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following:
Minimum 5 years experience independent handling of casualty claims
Adjusting license or willing to obtain an adjusting license
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
CIP/FCIP designation or working towards such designation
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Strong report writing skills
Detail oriented
Excellent negotiation skills
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
Good listening skills
Self motivated
Excellent organization and time management skills
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience, however this firms compensation package exceeds the industry standard.
