Position: One Year Contract – Business Development Rep.

Job Accountabilities:

In this position you are responsible for sales and marketing activities in Ontario region. Implementing our Marketing Plan aimed at enhancing/expanding our broker base. Supporting the underwriting team with their goals of high customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and long-term corporate goals.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for organizing, coordinating, and conducting sales activities, such as field visits to insurance broker’s offices throughout Ontario.
  • Develop and consistently act on a sales strategy schedule. Keep record of the contacts.
  • 4 days on the road visiting brokers, 1 day in the office (either working from our Toronto or London Ontario branch).
  • Sourcing business opportunities and engaging and coordinate with the underwriters. Facilitating, promoting, and coordinating the development of partnerships between Premier and broker force.
  • Managing a database of qualified leads/contacts for the purposes of sales visits and promotional activity.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within their assigned territory, including the use of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel to maintain accurate records to maximize territory potential.
  • Assist in the implementation of company promotional activities and seminars.
  • Maintain contact with brokers in the market area to ensure high levels of satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of Commercial and Personal Lines insurance experience.
  • Experience or knowledge of sales process
  • Demonstrate technical selling skills and product knowledge in all product areas (Personal and Commercial).
  • Willingness to travel frequently and independently.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (specifically Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Dynamic personality – and ability to leave a positive professional impression with brokers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively product and company strengths and ability to read situation in order to adjust sales technique (or engage management, underwriting etc.)

Compensation:

Vary based on qualifications/experience of applicant, and to include appropriate car allowance and travel expenses.
