Full-Time Business Analyst, National Risk Consulting Services

Job Description

Our National Risk Consulting Services (NRCS) team is looking for a Business Analyst with strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail to support business operations. The ability to think methodically and logically will be well served as you tackle project planning and coordination, requirements management, user testing, suggest practice improvements and provide implementation support. Strong communication is an asset as you will act as a liaison between NRCS and our IT department. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys challenging the status quo and is looking to grow their career within the insurance industry.

This is a temporary full time role for a period of 12 months.

Your Impact:

  • Participate in the preparation of business case documents, project plans and other information needed by management to select and prioritize business initiatives, working with business project managers.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic alignment of projects, and document requirements for future projects.
  • Engage project stakeholders to gather, document, and validate detailed requirements for projects.
  • Perform detailed analysis of business functions, processes, and requirements.
  • Liaise effectively with the Business Systems Analyst assigned to the project, to ensure proper transition of requirements from business requirements through to technical (system) requirements.
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and documenting user acceptance testing, executing testing, and participating in the resolution of problems.
  • Contribute to improvement and streamlining of business testing processes.
  • Participate in implementations as required, providing guidance and verification support to the project team.
  • Assist with preparing training materials, for users and external clients, including changes to business processes and/or systems.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the business processes by researching best practices, devising improvements, piloting new techniques, and creating more effective processes.
  • Provide technical assistance in training, mentoring and coaching business team members.

Your Expertise:

  • Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Commerce or related program.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an analytical role in a project-related environment.
  • Working towards business analysis and/or project management designation preferred.
  • Knowledge of business analysis practices, especially requirements planning, elicitation, management, design, analysis, documentation, and communication.
  • Knowledge of testing such as: planning and control standards, analysis and design techniques, implementation and execution methods, tools and reporting.
  • Ability to analyze business problems and identify multiple solution options with recommendations based on time, impact, and resources.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate shall be subject to a Criminal Record and Consumer History background check as a condition of employment.
