We have openings for automobile appraiser professionals in our Intact Service Centre (ISC) who are committed to providing legendary customer service.
The ISC is Intact’s premiere automobile claims service centre. Located in Toronto, the ISC is our one stop concierge shop, where our customers will take their vehicle to have it inspected by our appraisal team, provided with a rental (where applicable), and sent for repair to our RELY partner network. Successful candidates will be provided with a robust onboarding / training program, and ongoing team support.
To be successful in this recruitment process, you must be able to commit to the scheduled shifts that will run between the following operational hours: Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and select Statutory Holidays 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please note the tentative start date will be September/October 2016.
As an Auto Appraiser, you will be responsible for assessing vehicle damage, utilizing your skills and meeting service standards when settling claims and investigating losses.
- This is a technical Auto Damage appraisal position which is responsible for evaluating mechanical and/or physical damage to vehicles, monitoring repair shop quality while ensuring excellent customer service.
- You must have the ability to prepare repair estimates on damaged vehicles through direct and in-person contact with insured’s, claimants, and service provider using manual and automated appraisal system.
- Will conduct quality re-inspections to ensure satisfactory completion of repairs.
- Maintain effective communication channels with claims departments.
- Establish and maintain productive business relationships and liaison with repair facilities and other service providers.
- Maintains current knowledge of insurance products as well as appraisal and investigation techniques and services
Skills
- High School Diploma and Automotive Technical Certification preferred
- Have a strong background in collision repair and or collision estimating
- Comprehensive knowledge of automobile construction and repair procedures
- Strong analytical skills to define problems / issues, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in a fast pace, high pressure environment
- Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form.
- A valid G driver’s license with a satisfactory standing.
- Ability to deal with and solve problems involving specific parameters in standardized situations.
- Team player with ability to share job responsibilities of others when called on
- Knowledge of Insurance is an asset.
- Legendary customer service and communication skills.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with MS Office products
