Employment Type: Full-Time, Temporary

Duration:  6-month contract

The Sovereign General Insurance Company is looking for a student, recent graduate, or junior administrative assistant to join our team from February through August 2017 to provide exceptional administrative support to our National Risk Engineering Services Team. You will be responsible for supporting and coordinating a variety of technical and administrative functions for our nationwide team of professionals. If you are a quick learner, highly organized, can work well independently and have an interest in insurance this may be the opportunity for you! This position is available to support our current Technical Assistant while they are seconded to a temporary project.

 

Your Impact:

Serve as the integration point for the National Risk Engineering Services team by providing a variety multi-faceted support, including but not limited to, the following:

 

  • Coordinate, schedule, and provide external and internal inspectors with required information to enable them to efficiently carry out their survey request assignments.
  • Receive completed inspection report, issue jurisdictional certificate where applicable.
  • Maintain and update Risk Specialist Services resource library.
  • Maintain records, file, prepare invoices, and other administrative tasks as required.
  • Manage abeyances to track inspections and issue an inspection request when jurisdictional requirements warrant a certificate renewal.
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with others, providing backup, assistance or support as needed.

 

Your Expertise:

  • Current enrollment or recent graduate of a post-secondary program (business, insurance, administration or related field preferred).
  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment, while demonstrating a strong customer service mindset.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to learn, try new things and take risks.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize own work.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving abilities.
  • Previous office experience preferred, insurance industry experience is an asset.
