Full-Time Accounts Receivable Supervisor

Job Description

The successful candidate will oversee the billing, financial reporting, cash management and general management of the Accounts Receivable department. He/she will evaluate and streamline existing billing and financial reporting processes, cash management and collections processes. He/she will manage, analyze and make recommendations for improvements, review financial reports, cash management reports and transactions and assist in the internal and external audit functions. The incumbent will proactively research, interpret and recommend the proper application of accounting standards, as well as ensuring PCI compliance for all transactions as they occur.  The incumbent  will ensure staff adheres to all established procedures and controls, conduct annual performance appraisals. The successful candidate will lead and represent the billing team in a new systems implementation project  and will be working with systems personnel and other departments in the integration of a new billing and enrolment system.

Qualifications:  

  • Post-secondary education in a related field
  • Five years of previous experience in accounting including a minimum of three years in a supervisory role is required;
  • Experience in administration and/or in the insurance industry;
  • Ability to learn and manage several operational systems and/or lead projects;
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills;
  • Analytical skills and detail oriented;
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to meet deadlines and set priorities;
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-task environment;
  • Excellent oral and written skills; and
  • Proficiency in computer spreadsheet applications.
