We are currently looking for a Claims Service Representative I (contract) in our Vancouver office.

Responsibilities:

Investigate, negotiate and handle a pending of 175, ability to handle 50 new claims per month by telephone, adhering to policy conditions and Claims Manual guidelines.
Claims will include minor accident benefits, minor property losses (both personal lines and commercial), and auto losses, both physical damage and liability.
Conduct investigations into liability assessments and on suspicious losses.
Secure information from insureds, third parties, witnesses and service providers. Interpret police reports, repair invoices and analyze financial documents in order to assess quantum.
Interpret insurance wordings, conditions and definitions.
Processes PMS and HUON transactions (ie payments, reserve changes and closures) and have an ability to read SPLG coverage/coding screens.
Prepare claim-related documents, releases and correspondence.
Preparation of subrogation files for litigation.

Requirements:

Enrolled in CIP program
University Degree or College Diploma an asset
Minimum 2 to 5 years work experience
Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
Strong organizational and time management skills
Exemplary written and oral communication skills
Computer literate (Windows NT, Word, Outlook and Excel an asset)
