Our client is one of the number one providers of critical illness insurance and direct life and health premium in Canada. They are also one of the the largest direct-response home and auto insurer in the country. As part of their expansion process, they are starting an an initiative to provide protection solutions to business customers, and will be launching a group benefits plan for small business customers.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Channel Strategy, the Group Benefits Advisor will be accountable for sales of group benefits solutions for prospective small business customers.
Responsibilities include:
• Grow new group benefits relationships by converting warm leads to sales through effective needs assessment, plan design and negotiation, supported by client presentations as required. • Cross-sell other life & health products as appropriate and identify referral opportunities to other areas of the business. • Manage own portfolio, achieving business objectives for revenue, profitability, efficiency, and overall retention. • Provide best in class service and advice before and after the sales, including client presentations, ongoing assessment of client needs, plan design, plan amendments and renewals. • Ensure customer problems and handled appropriately, escalating and facilitating resolution when necessary. • Support achievement of planned objectives. • Maintain excellent knowledge of and compliance with applicable Bank and insurance industry laws and regulations pertaining to the small business group benefits market. • Meet professional/personal development objectives and continuing education requirements by utilizing internal and external courses. • Proactively promote the company's image within the business community through participation and leadership in community business groups, initiatives, fundraisers, etc.

• Excellent business development and relationship management skills • Demonstrated abilities and strengths in impacting and influencing • Effective verbal and written communication • Strong presentations skills • Effective time management and organization skills • Ability to adapt quickly and adjust priorities as required. • Ability to collaborate as a team member in addition to working independently. • Previous group benefits sales experience . • Willing to work variable hours, including evenings. • Transportation will be required with reimbursement of mileage provided. • This position requires a life insurance license (LLQP) or (CLU) designation as a minimum standard for employment. • Post secondary education, GBA or CEBS designations will be considered an asset
