We are currently looking to a recruit a Vice President Planning and Financial Controls based in Toronto, Ontario that will be a key member in supporting our growth.
The Role
The Vice President of Planning and Financial Controls is a key member of the AXA Insurance and AXA General Insurance Senior Management Group and plays a major role in working with the different levels of the organization as well as with Corporate. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of AXA Insurance, the Vice President of Planning and Financial Controls establishes the financial processes, systems and organizational structure that will support the overall vision and strategic direction of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Manage all the financial functions and ensure that effective financial, administrative, and operational controls are in place to support current business needs and future growth.
Ø Assist EVP with the development and implementation of strategic business and operational plans, financial costs structures and control systems for projects and programs.
Ø Establish and implement short-and long range finance and administration departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.
Ø Develop strong working relationships with all AXA Insurance & AXA General Insurance divisions and departments to provide support, advice and business suggestions on financial matters.
Ø Manage the preparation of all management financial reports and ensure their accuracy.
Ø Act as a key external representative for the organization including auditors, banks and strategic partners. Coordinate financial audits and provide recommendation for procedural improvements.
Ø Oversee the governance and compliance process for AXA Insurance and AXA General Insurance.
Ø Manage a team of 4 direct reports and 40 contributors. Promote a positive working environment by demonstrating the AXA values and ensuring that these values are being embraced by all contributors.
Requirements:
Ø 15 years of successful professional experience in financial roles of increasing responsibility with well-regarded companies ideally from the Insurance Industry.
Ø University Degree in Finance, Business, Actuarial Science or related field
Ø Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills.
Ø Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a specific attention to detail.
Ø Must be able to wear multiple hats, be hands on, as well as the ability to see “the big picture”.
Ø Decisive with a strong sense of urgency to accomplish requests in a timely, accurate manner through and with others
Ø Ability to manage competing demands, to prioritize and to successfully meet the business requirements.
